Synthetic fabrics made of polyester monofilament are
- resistant to mineral and organic acids effect, alkaline (with concentration higher than 10%, pBT 9–11) and organic solvents (acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride);
- highly resistant to atmospheric forcing, not water-soluble, biochemically resistant, good electric insulating material;
- soluble in phenols, concentrated sulphuric and azotic acids;
- not to be used under long-term effect of high temperature steam (more than 110C) as it cause the hydrolytic break-down of fibers and decrease of strength.
- Synthetic polyester fabrics including polyamide yarns must not be cleaned with mineral and organic acids as well as with chemicals consisting of oxidizers (e.g. peroxide), because it can result in destruction of polyamide yarns.
Woven synthetic fabrics made of polyester monofilament are confirmed by hygiene certificate.
Polypropylene fabrics are resistant to mineral and organic acids, alkalis (with concentration less by 40%, pBT 12 at the temperature up to 110C) and less resistant to sunshine and UV light.
